For the 6th consecutive time, Mansoura University leads Egyptian universities in literacy

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced that the university has ranked first among Egyptian universities in literacy for the sixth consecutive time, according to a report by the Information and Decision Support Center of the General Authority for Adult Education, which included the results of the July 2025 session. The report highlighted the university's success in educating 14,571 students about literacy.
This achievement is a culmination of the university's pioneering role in serving the local community and stems from its deep belief in the importance of eradicating illiteracy, through its fruitful cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education in Dakahlia Governorate.
Prof. Cherif Khater said that the university's continued achievement of this accomplishment is in implementation of the political leadership's directives to build a new republic free of illiteracy and stems from the university's active role in supporting the state's plans for comprehensive and sustainable development. He added that the university has harnessed all its capabilities and human resources to contribute to this national effort, which is considered one of the most important issues of national social security. He noted that eradicating illiteracy contributes to strengthening economic and social development paths, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030. He also emphasized Mansoura University's commitment to continuing to achieve qualitative achievements in this field, based on its social responsibility, its commitment to active participation in the national literacy project, and its belief that education is a fundamental right and a pivotal pillar for achieving sustainable development. He praised the fruitful and ongoing cooperation between Mansoura University and the General Authority for Adult Education branch in Dakahlia Governorate, emphasizing that this cooperation is one of the pillars of the university's continued success in this vital issue.
The University President also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and the Education and Student Sector, commending the significant efforts of the deans, faculty vice deans, adult education coordinators, faculty members, staff, and students, particularly in the Faculties of Education, Specific Education, Early Childhood Education, Arts, and Physical Education, for their dedicated efforts and active participation in implementing literacy and adult education programs. He also commended the role of the Mansoura University Center for Adult Education Services and the General Administration of Environmental Projects in coordinating between the university and the Dakahlia branch of the General Authority for Adult Education, emphasizing that the integration of institutional efforts had a significant impact on achieving this continued excellence. He also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the General Authority for Adult Education, headed by Major General Engineer Raed Heikal, and to Prof. Hammad Al-Husseini, Director General of the Authority's branch in Dakahlia, for their constructive cooperation and continuous support of the university, which contributes to achieving the national goals of literacy and adult education nationwide.
It is worth noting that Mansoura University was awarded the UNESCO-Confucius Prize for Literacy last year, further affirming the uniqueness of its experience and the excellence of its efforts in this field at the national and international levels.
