Mansoura University Reinforces its Research Leadership with 32 Scientific Journals Awarded by the Supreme Council of Universities for 2026

Mansoura University has achieved a new milestone reflecting its leading position in scientific research and academic publishing. This comes after the Supreme Council of Universities announced the results of its 2026 evaluation of Egyptian scientific journals and indexed scientific journals. The evaluation revealed that 32 scientific journals published by the university, across various disciplines, were awarded accreditation within the Egyptian scientific journal system. This strengthens the university's standing among leading Egyptian universities in supporting scientific and research output.

 The evaluation results highlight Mansoura University's excellence in the scientific publishing system. 29 specialized scientific journals achieved the highest rankings, while the remaining accredited journals continued to enhance their academic presence within the Egyptian scientific journal system. This clearly reflects the quality of the scientific content, adherence to academic standards, and ongoing efforts to develop scientific journals and elevate their research level, thus supporting their competitiveness at both the local and international levels.

 Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, affirmed that this achievement embodies the distinguished research standing the university has attained and reflects the success of its vision in building an integrated system for scientific research and academic publishing based on quality, innovation, and adherence to international standards. This contributes to enhancing the university's competitiveness and solidifying its position among leading universities.

 He added that Mansoura University views its scientific journals as one of the most important tools for disseminating knowledge and showcasing the scientific output of its researchers. The university continues to provide various forms of support for their development and to raise their performance levels, thereby contributing to the increased dissemination of scientific research and maximizing its impact. This also strengthens the university's presence in international indexing databases and rankings, supporting the state's direction towards a knowledge economy and sustainable development.

 Prof. Tarek Ghawash explained that the evaluation results reflect the qualitative development witnessed by Mansoura University's scientific journals in recent years, thanks to the application of best practices in scientific publishing, the development of the peer-review and editorial systems, and adherence to quality standards, in addition to the continuous support provided by the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector to the editorial boards of the scientific journals. He added that the sector continues to implement a comprehensive plan to enhance the quality of the university's scientific journals by improving their inclusion in global databases, increasing citation rates, and encouraging researchers to publish in prestigious journals. This contributes to supporting the university's international ranking and strengthening its research standing.

 The evaluation results showed significant progress for the "Childhood Care and Development" journal, with its rating rising seven points compared to last year. This reflects the continuous development in the quality of the journal's scientific and editorial content.

 Furthermore, Mansoura University's indexed scientific journals continued to achieve outstanding results. The Egyptian Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences (Indexed) recorded an Impact Factor of 3.1, while the MEJ – Mansoura Engineering Journal (Indexed) achieved an Impact Factor of 0.8. This reflects the high quality of the scientific and research content of the university's journals and their success in meeting international standards for academic publishing. This achievement reflects Mansoura University’s success in consolidating its position as one of the leading universities in scientific research and academic publishing, through the development of its scientific journals, enhancing the quality of its research outputs, and expanding its presence in international indexing and classification databases, which supports the innovation process and enhances the university’s contribution to serving the community and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
