Cancer Prevention Day at Mansoura University

Under the auspices of Prof. Alsayed Abdel- Khalk President of Mansoura University, the Cancer Prevention Day was inaugurated on Wednesday, 16/5/2012 in the presence of Prof. Ihab Saad Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Deniour , the head of the tumors surgery unit and Prof. Nazim Shams Director of the Center of Oncology and Chairman of the conference and Prof. Omar Farouq, the coordinator of the scientific conference in the center. The importance of these conferences lies in their guidance and the idea of prevention before cure, especially in this deadly disease as well as ways of eliminating it completely through the prevention based on early detection.
President Al-Sayed abdel-Khalek, in his speech, stressed the role of the university in raising the medical awareness and the role of the great medical assistance offered by the Faculty of Medicine through medical centers and various services to the Delta region. He has recommended disseminating the benefits of these conferences via CDs, leaflets and publications for dissemination to civil society and their access to the public. He also recommended to communicate with the Ministry of Health to be published within the delta region to raise the awareness to reduce the spread of this terrible disease. Many staff members of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as students attended the conference.
