Mansoura University sign contract the studies of metro project in Mansoura City

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed El-Meligy Vice-President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs on behalf of Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, Acting President of Mansoura University sighned the contract of necessary studies for the transport project in the city of Mansoura which financed by the French government.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Tarek Abu Al Wafa, Head of Planning Sector at the National Expenditure Authority, Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharkawi, representative of Mansoura, Prof. Sherif Al-Badawi, Head of the Working Group at the Consultancy and Engineering Studies Center, Osama Al-Rawi and Dr. Ahmed Metwally from the Faculty of Engineering.
The terms of the contract include the Center for Consulting and Engineering Studies at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, preparing the crisis studies and the two companies Systra and EGIS.
The study aims at identifying the transportation needs in Mansoura city in order to reduce traffic congestion in the city and to reduce travel times. The study also includes different alternatives for mass transport of monorail and subways, as well as the optimal connection between Mansoura City and New Mansoura City.
