Students of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, win first place in the Huawei Global Competition in China

On May 26, 2024, two teams of representatives of Huawei Academy at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University and representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt, won first place in the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Global Final, which was held in Shenzhen, China, from May 23 to May 26,2024 , in which 164 teams from 34 countries around the world participated.

Where the student team Amir Muhammad Shtayyeh, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, won first place in the field of cloud services, and the first place was also won by the student team Ahmed Muhammad Al-Sharkawy, Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, in the field of cloud computing.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, congratulated the students of the Faculty of Engineering for winning the Huawei ICT competition, pointing out that this victory reflects their excellence, creativity, and talent. He confirmed that the university pays great attention to the care of innovators and geniuses in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the importance of caring for talented, brilliant and innovators, and within the framework of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, and the university is working to create a stimulating and supportive environment for excellence and innovation, to build a generation of distinguished young cadres, in a way that contributes to preparing an effective scientific and technological base, producing knowledge, capable of innovation, and pushing the national economy to continuous progress. He added that those innovators are the source of achieving sustainable development, aiming to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030, and encountering the challenges facing our country.

Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi said that Mansoura University encourages the distinguished and supports the outstanding in various fields, and that it provided all means for the students of the Faculty of Engineering participating in the competition until the two teams obtained the first places qualified for the final competition in Shenzhen, China, stressing the support and meeting of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, the Director of the Academy and students from the Faculties of Engineering and Computers, which had a great impact on spreading the spirit of competition and the desire to achieve excellence and motivation to reach success and excellence. He stressed the keenness of Mansoura University to be an entity of continuous giving that provides its creative students with all means to reach excellence.

Prof. Sherif Badawi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, pointed to the efficiency of the students of the Faculty of Engineering, their excellence and their ability to participate effectively and honorable in local and international competitions in various fields and win advanced positions, and the faculty's keenness to develop the spirit of innovation and creativity in all its students, and to bring about integration in the fields they study, in addition to encouraging them to communicate with their peers from various Egyptian and international universities, and supporting student projects that aim to find innovative solutions in various fields.

Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawakol, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Director of Huawei Academy, indicated that the two teams of the Academy of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, won the first place at the level of Egypt, and the second at the level of Africa, so that the two teams are one of three teams representing Africa in China during the final competition. She added that the Huawei Academy at the Faculty of Engineering is the latest training entity in the faculty, which has made great strides, that provides great support to trainees to achieve the university's vision in achieving the national strategy for education and supports creativity and innovation as one of the important axes of it.
