The conclusion of the “Future Judges” competition, the first competition organized by Mansoura University Faculty of Law for the faculties of: law, Sharia, and law programs in Egyptian universities.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, received Counselor Emad Dahshan, Head of Appeal, the first general lawyer of the Mansoura Appeals Prosecution, during his participation in the conclusion of the “Judges of the Future” competition, which was organized by the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University at the level of all faculties of law, Sharia, law, and law programs in all Egyptian universities.
The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the faculty, Prof. Ahmed Shawky Abu Khatwa, Professor of Criminal Law and former Dean of the faculty, Prof. Tamer Saleh, Vice Dean of the faculty for Education and Student Affairs, the Vice Deans of the faculty, heads of departments, representatives and members of judicial bodies, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Ghamri, President of the Dakahlia Bar Association and the members of the Association, Prof. Mona Abu Bakr Hassan, Professor of Civil Law at the faculty.
The closing ceremony was presented by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Sharaf El-Din, lecturer in the Department of Civil Law, and Dr. Amina Hussein Taha, lecturer in the Department of Public International Law.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the student teams participating in the competition from all over Egypt. He also thanked and appreciated the university presidents and vice presidents for supporting the student teams representing their universities. He added that the competition is the first event of its kind in Egyptian universities, which represents a breakthrough in the practical training for law schools. He pointed out that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University has adopted an approach ten years ago to move from the stage of theoretical education to the stage of practical training, which is carried out in a large proportion, and its graduates compete for international level. The faculty also achieved distinguished positions at the local and regional levels, and represented Egypt at the international level as the best advocate and pleader and the best memoirs written in the English language.
He explained that the competition is considered unique and has a different practical application at the level of law faculties in Egyptian universities, as it aims to graduate a generation with the ability and practical experience to practice all types of legal work.
The day’s events were concluded by honoring the team supervisors and honoring the competition’s organizing committee, Prof. Mona Abu Bakr Hassan, Professor of Civil Law, Dr. Amani Ali Al-Hadidi, Assistant Lecturer in the Public Law Department, Dr. Abdullah Saleh Ishak, Assistant Lecturer in the Criminal Law Department, and Dr. Mona Emad Al-Shimi, Assistant Lecturer in the Civil Law Department, and Dr. Omnia Samir Steen, Assistant Lecturer in the Civil Law Department.
The Best Judge Award was presented, and it was won by Sultan Fahmy, the Justice Square Team, Faculty of Law, Cairo University, the Best Representative Award for the Public Prosecution was won by Ahmed Reda Al-Saeed, the Leaders Team, Faculty of Law, Damietta University, and the Best Defense Award was won by Mohamed Hani Mohamed Abdel Basset, the Jurists Team, Faculty of Law, Mansoura University.
The first three places in the Future Judges Competition were finally announced, and were as follows:
First place (Pioneers of Justice) “New Mansoura University”
Second place (jurists) “Mansoura University”
Third place (Sun of the truth Team) “Ain Shams University”
