The Oncology Center at Mansoura University is the first in Egypt in the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, announced on July 9, 2024, that the Oncology Center achieved first place in the republic in achieving the target of the presidential initiative to support Egyptian women’s health.
This came according to reports on the completion rates of oncology centers nationwide, which were presented during the meeting of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, where the completion rates showed that the Oncology Center at Mansoura University had the highest frequency rates with a rate of 22,302 cases, and radiology rates also achieved first place. Also at a rate of 15,957 cases.
Pathology examinations at the Oncology Center reached 4,744 cases, On the other hand, the rates of detected cases of breast cancer reached the highest rate, at 3,153 cases.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater stressed the importance of the presidential initiative for women’s health, which was implemented under the directives of the political leadership and which provides hundreds of services to women in Egypt, and the support provided by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the initiative to support Egyptian women’s health. He added that there are many components that contributed to this achievement, and coordination and integration between various specialties, noting that a comprehensive action plan has been developed that includes raising awareness, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and achieving the desired goals of the Presidential Initiative Program.
Prof. El-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of Hospitals and Medical Centers, pointed out the role of the Oncology Center and other departments in implementing the presidential initiative, which includes detection and treatment of breast cancer, as the Oncology Center at Mansoura University is one of the leading institutions in providing specialized health care to oncology patients. In Egypt, and through its effective role in implementing the presidential initiative “Women’s Health,” the center contributes significantly to enhancing Egyptian women’s health, early detection of cancerous diseases, and provision of appropriate treatment.
Prof. Walid Al-Nahhas, Director of the Oncology Center, said that the center works in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population and other health institutions to implement the presidential initiative’s strategies. This cooperation includes exchanging experiences and providing technical support to ensure the achievement of the initiative’s goals, and provides integrated therapeutic services that include surgery, chemotherapy treatment, radiation, and hormonal therapy. These services are provided by a specialized medical team with high experience in the field of oncology treatment. This is done using the latest technologies and medical devices to ensure accurate diagnosis and speed of procedures.
Through these integrated efforts, the Oncology Center at Mansoura University plays a vital role in improving Egyptian women’s health, providing advanced health care, and supporting national initiatives aimed at combating cancerous diseases and improving the quality of life for women in Egypt.
