The German-Middle Eastern Forum concludes its events at Mansoura University in cooperation with the DAAD

The German-Middle Eastern Forum, which was held at Mansoura University over two days from November 17 to 18, 2024, concluded under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the attendance of Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
The scientific sessions of the second day discussed various topics that discussed the importance of cooperation between scientific research and industry to achieve sustainable development, and scientific research and industrial applications: the gap and solutions, which were presented by Prof. Alaa Idris - Professor of Technology Management at Nile University and former Vice President of the University for Strategy and Innovation. The lecture addressed the importance of bridging the gap between scientific research results and industrial applications, with a review of examples from previous projects. Then, a lecture titled "Artificial Intelligence Models: Achievements and Challenges" was presented by Prof. Andreas Pester, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning at the British University in Egypt, which discussed the role of artificial intelligence in vital sectors such as health, education and industry, with a focus on the challenges facing the application of these technologies in the Arab world.
The events concluded with a lecture on "Creativity in Business Models and Startups", presented by Prof. Hadia Hamdy, Vice President of Academic Services at Canadian Universities in Egypt.
The closing session was attended by a group of specialists, including Prof. Marie-Luise Sessler - Professor of Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences,Worms, Germany, Eng. Ahmed El Gendy, Head of Business Development at the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency in Egypt, Prof. Ashraf Sheta, Entrepreneurship Consultant and Assistant Professor at Misr University, Eng. Naglaa Nasr, Social Responsibility Expert at WE Company, and Dr. Nahel Amirah, Innovation Support Manager at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC). The session discussed how to benefit from creativity in developing business models and the importance of modern technology in improving the performance of start-ups.
Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, and Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, honored all the speakers in the forum in appreciation of their valuable contribution to the success of the forum. They handed over the forum’s certificates of attendance, recognized by Mansoura University and the German DAAD, which are equivalent to passing a training course in “Entrepreneurship and Innovation Skills,” and gave them commemorative shields as an expression of the university’s appreciation for their efforts.
At the end of the forum, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash called on the organizers of the event to transform the ideas and visions that were discussed into practical projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development and linking scientific research with industry, while emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation between all participating parties, in the journey of searching for innovation and development.
