Launching the events of the 6th Entrepreneurship Week for Mansoura University Center for Career Development

The events of the 6th Entrepreneurship Week of the University Centers for Career Development were launched at Mansoura University on November 27, 2024, under the title "Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development: Regional and Economic Opportunities and Challenges", held under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, in the Grand Conference Hall at Mansoura University.
The forum was opened by Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, in the presence of Prof. Abed Nasr, former Vice President of Delta University for Community Service Affairs, Dr. Mona Abu Al-Ezz, Executive Director of the University Center for Career Development, Prof. Amina Shalaby, Head of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, Prof. Hala Barakat, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at the American University, Mr. Hazem Nasr, Head of the Journalists Syndicate in Dakahlia, Dr. Tarek Al-Bahi, Director of the Entrepreneurship and Employment Unit, Dr. Hesham Yassin, Director of the Training Unit, representatives of entrepreneurship companies, industrial institutions and civil society organizations.
The forum represents a major platform that brings together students, academics, and practitioners to exchange knowledge and experiences and launch constructive dialogues, in the presence of an elite group of experts, entrepreneurs, and specialists. Many topics focus on how to benefit from entrepreneurship to achieve sustainable development, and shed light on the economic and regional challenges facing entrepreneurs, and how these challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and innovation, by developing the skills that are the basis for building an entrepreneurial community capable of achieving the desired change.
Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi extended his greetings to Prof. Cherif Khater for sponsoring the 6th week and his keenness to hold it annually in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week, within the framework of the university's caring for young people through training them and honing their skills. He expressed his pleasure at the remarkable development in the university's professional development centers during the past few years, which have been able to be an effective platform and a meeting place for students to flock to and benefit from, noting that the establishment of development centers within Mansoura University arose as part of the university's philosophy in activating international partnerships, as it was launched with a funded grant and supervised by the American University. He also expressed his pride with the transformation of the university's youth into distinguished executive leaders capable of managing files and executing difficult tasks with distinction. He greeted the youth and students interested in volunteering and public work.
Dr. Mona Abu El-Ezz pointed out that organizing this week comes within the framework of the commitment of the University Center for Career Development at Mansoura University to their vital role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, as essential tools for achieving sustainable development and enhancing economic growth, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing our societies at the regional and global levels, as entrepreneurship is not limited to being an economic driver only, but rather a driving force for positive change; it represents an opportunity for young people to provide innovative solutions that contribute to addressing issues such as climate change, water scarcity, and the transition to sustainable energy sources. By supporting entrepreneurial ideas and linking them to the goals of sustainable development, we can build more inclusive and resilient economies, capable of facing the challenges of the future.
Dr. Tarek El-Bahi said that this week highlights the importance of enhancing the capabilities of graduates and students and preparing them to be effective pioneers in various fields, pointing to the vital role played by the Entrepreneurship and Employment Unit at the University Center for Career Development in achieving this goal through weekly employment bulletins, employment forums, and discussion sessions with experts in the field of entrepreneurship and various fields.
Dr. Hesham Yassin said that the 6th Entrepreneurship Week at Mansoura University coincides with the Global Entrepreneurship Week, where the university celebrates creativity and innovation, and it also reflects the strong commitment to promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and freelancing among members of our academic community. Entrepreneurship and freelancing come into play, as they contain the power of creativity and innovation that forms the basis for building a more sustainable future.

Dr. Mona Abu El-Ezz also announced the launch of the annual entrepreneurship competition, and invited students from various faculties to participate in the competition with their various creative ideas. The winners of the UCCD startup missiles competition were also announced.
The week's activities will be held from November 27 to 28, and will discuss all topics of interest to entrepreneurs and startups, with speakers from experts specializing in various fields and topics that interest all entrepreneurs and help them grow and continue their journey.
The forum's sessions addressed many issues related to entrepreneurship and the importance of linking entrepreneurship and education, opportunities available in emerging sectors such as green technology and renewable energy, the role of entrepreneurship in achieving sustainable development in light of economic and regional conditions, and feasibility studies in new projects
