For the first time in Egypt .. Launching the Arab Council for Health Specialties "Arab Board" exams at the Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University

Mansoura University continues its international achievements under the auspices of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, as the Faculty of Nursing hosted the Arab Council for Health Specialties "Arab Board" exams at the Faculty of Nursing at the university, under the leadership of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and the supervision of Prof. Abeer Zakaria, Acting Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Students Affairs, for the first time in Egypt, making Mansoura University the first university in Egypt and the Arab world to apply the Arab Board study for nursing, after passing all the different stages to reach the final stage.
The Arab Council delegation included Dr. Mirna Abi Doumit, Dr. Aisha Al-Maamari, Dr. Nagat Dowidar, Dr. Sabah Lamloum, and Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, Head of the Egyptian Nursing Syndicate and Member of the Senate, in the presence of Dr. Omaima Sobhi, Head of the Dakahlia Nursing Syndicate.
The visit lasted for three days from December 16 to 18, 2024, during which they were received by Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Abeer Zakaria, Acting Dean of the Faculty, in the presence of Prof. Nahid Qandil, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Asmaa Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, and Dr. Aida Farid, Director of the Arab Board Program at the Faculty.
Prof. Cherif Khater congratulated the Faculty of Nursing family on achieving this achievement, stressing that this event is considered an important step towards developing nursing education in Egypt and the Arab region. He emphasized the university's keenness to implement the sustainable development goals related to Egypt's Vision 2030, and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to activate international partnerships and international cooperation within the framework of the political leadership's directives to expand cooperation and partnerships with international educational institutions, and an important step towards enhancing cooperation opportunities between Mansoura University and Arab universities. As cooperation is an opportunity to exchange experiences and expertise to develop students' skills, and qualify students in interdisciplinary study programs, which contributes to enhancing their scientific and research capabilities, to prepare qualified graduates capable of competing in various fields.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash said that achieving this international achievement is a reflection of the continuous and successive development witnessed by the university, wishing Mansoura University further progress and advancement in all fields, stressing that this achievement and advanced levels in various international rankings are the culmination of the efforts made to adhere to international standards in various academic and educational files.
Prof. Abeer Zakaria pointed out that Egypt is the first to implement the Arab Board in the specialty of emergency and disaster nursing, and today is the first time that the final exam for the Arab Board program is held at the level of nursing faculties in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the simulation lab at the Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University. She added that the proposals submitted by the faculty were discussed, as well as the job title for Arab Board graduates and improving the quality of nursing services in health institutions, because Arab Board graduates are distinguished graduates and it is the highest degree in studying and practicing the nursing profession in the Arab world.
At the conclusion of the exam activities, the Academic Committee expressed its thanks and appreciation to Mansoura University and the team at the faculty who contributed to the success of this important event that will leave a positive impact on the future of nursing education in the Arab world.
It is worth noting that Mansoura University Hospitals had been accredited by the Arab Council for Medical Specializations, affiliated with the Council of Arab Health Ministers, to qualify Arab doctors to obtain the Arab Board certificate in various clinical and medical specialties.
