Mansoura University President Attends Closing Ceremony of Sports Activities at the University Sports Club

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, witnessed the closing ceremony of sports activities at the Mansoura University Sports Club on December 12, 2024, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the deans and vice deans of the faculties, Prof. Sayed Al-Aissawy, Executive Director of the Club, Captain Mustafa Al-Maamli, Executive Director of the Olympic Village, a number of faculty members, administrators and students, in the covered hall of the Olympic Village.
Prof. Cherif Khater paid tribute and appreciation to the efforts of those in charge of the club and sports activities, and congratulated all the students participating in the sports activities, indicating his pride in their achievement and sports excellence, and asked them to continue to excel in sports and studies. He added that the university is keen on working within the framework of a development vision, based on making the most of its available capabilities to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and the university's keenness to provide all services to university members in order to create a stimulating environment for creativity and excellence in the field of sports.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim expressed his pleasure to attend this major sports celebration, stressing that the achievements of the students make us proud of them, as sports are not just a hobby, as they contribute to enhancing their health and building more cohesive societies, pointing to the interest of the community service sector in all sports activities, and working to integrate sports into all aspects of university life.
The ceremony included a number of artistic segments in reciting poetry, and a group of performances of combat games, including: showing methods for students from Kung Fu, Karate, and Judo players.
The opening ceremony concluded with honoring the players and technical staff in various sports who won many medals at the local and international levels, namely: Player Moamen Sabry, who won the gold medal at the Ghana 2024 African Games Championship, and the First Class Republic Medal, Technical Director and Player Coach Dr. Mohamed Ramzy - Basketball Teams Under 14 and Under 16, Basketball Technical Staff Led by Captain Osama Abdel Azim - Tennis Players Under 10 Team Coaches Mr. Mohamed El-Sherbiny - Mrs. Basant Tarek, Tennis Players Team 12, 14 Team Coaches Mr. Ahmed Abdel Khaleq - Mr. Ammar El-Sherbiny, Squash Players Led by Technical Director Mr. Ahmed Abdel Sattar, Judo Players Team Coach Mr. Mohamed El-Maghribi, Taekwondo Players Led by Technical Director Mrs. Aziza El-Sayed, Kung Fu Players Team Coach Mr. Amr Farag, Kickboxing Players Led by Technical Director Mr. Mohamed Soliman Team Coach Mr. Abdel Rahman El-Hamel, Swimming Players Led by Technical Director Mr. Mohamed Refaat, Premier and First Class Karate Players Men and Women, Players Karate Egypt national team winners of the Republic Championships, Karate players who won individual championships at the Republic level, Karate players who won group championships at the Republic level, Fin swimmers who won individual and relay medals in the Republic Championship (2012 - 2011 - 2005 - Masters), 2010 - 2011 players, 2012 players, 2013 - 2014 players.

Prof. SCherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, received on December 12, 2024, a delegation from Shenyang Jianzhu University in the People's Republic of China, headed by Prof. Yan Wenfu, President of the University, in the presence of Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research. The meeting was attended from the Chinese side by Prof. Hong Sun, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Chenqi Li, Vice President of the University for Development and Planning, Prof. Xian Ning, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Prof. Wang Xing, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation at the University, and from the Egyptian side by Prof. Marwa Hassaan, Director of the International Relations Office, Assoc. Prof. Yasra Al-Far, Dr. Ahmed Hussein, Dr. Shady Awni - Deputy Directors of the International Relations Office, Dr. Ahoud Ali Rashwan, Lecturer of Chinese Language at the Faculty of Arts.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two universities, and the possibility of concluding a protocol to enhance cooperation frameworks in the fields of scientific research and exchange of staff and students, and holding meetings, workshops and scientific conferences.
Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the Chinese delegation, stressing the depth of the strategic and historical relations between Egypt and China, and pointing out that Mansoura University is striving to implement the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt's Vision 2030, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to expand international partnerships with institutions with a distinguished global reputation, and to consolidate cooperation ties with all universities from different countries of the world. He added that the university welcomes educational, research and training cooperation with Shenyang Jianzhu University, as well as his desire for cooperation to extend to expanding the study of the Chinese language at the university. He explained that the university has many internationally accredited educational programs and scientific specializations, as well as educational programs in partnership with international universities, in addition to the university's excellence in technological aspects and digital transformation and its receipt of Egyptian government excellence awards in this regard, as well as its receipt of institutional accreditation as the first Egyptian university accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in Egypt. It also has a medical sector that includes 13 hospitals and specialized medical centers with a prestigious reputation and position locally and internationally, accredited by the Arab Council for Medical Specializations affiliated with the Council of Arab Health Ministers, to obtain the Arab Board in various clinical and medical specialties, in addition to the university being a destination for incoming students from different nationalities, as the number of incoming students within the university reached 15000 students from 52 different nationalities.
Prof. Yan Wenfu expressed her pleasure to be at Mansoura University, which enjoys a great academic reputation at the international level, due to the advanced level she saw in various fields. She also expressed her amazement at the medical sector within the university, and the remarkable development at the technical and scientific levels. She reviewed the history of the establishment of Shenyang Jianzhu University, which is located in Liaoning Province in northeastern China. It was established in 1949 and is one of the oldest universities in China. It is multidisciplinary and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields, including engineering, architecture, management, humanities and social sciences. The university has 21 faculties, one doctoral program and 10 master's programs. It offers 56 university majors, and includes the faculties of materials science, engineering, foreign languages and international economics. She stressed that the university seeks to strengthen international relations with educational institutions with a prestigious scientific reputation.
The President of Shenyang Jianzhu University invited the President of Mansoura University to visit China and learn more about the university, within the framework of enhancing ways of joint cooperation.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash called for opening up horizons of cooperation between the two universities in the field of research cooperation and international publishing, and proposed the idea of establishing a joint research center within the framework of implementing Mansoura University's plan to link scientific research with industry.
It is worth noting that the Chinese delegation's visit program included a tour inside Mansoura University, which included: Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Engineering, Urology and Nephrology Center, Oncology Center, and Cardiothoracic Surgery Center.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Cherif Khater presented Mansoura University with a shield, and the two parties exchanged souvenirs.
