President of Mansoura University inaugurates the first employment conference for veterinarians

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, inaugurated on December 11, 2024, the first employment conference for veterinarians at Mansoura University, which is held within the activities of the presidential initiative "Bidaya ( New Beginning) " at Mansoura University, and in cooperation with the General Syndicate of Veterinarians under the auspices of Dr. Magdy Hassan, the General Secretary, in the Grand Conference Hall at the Mansoura University Administration.
In the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Maha El-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and President of the Conference, a group of committee heads, members of the Senate and the Parliament, leaders of the Armed Forces from veterinarians, heads of government agencies specialized in the fields of veterinary medicines, animal and agricultural production, heads of sub-unions of veterinarians, heads of major international, regional and local companies in the field of veterinary economics, the Director of the Regional Agricultural Bank and representatives of the Egyptian Drug Authority, the World Health Organization and the FAO, with the extensive participation of veterinarians and new graduates from all over the Republic.
Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the attendees, pointing out that the conference is being held within the activities of the Presidential Bedaya Initiative for Human Development, and in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to invest in human capital and implement the sustainable development goals in Egypt's Vision 2023, pointing out the importance of the conference's topic, which is a major platform that combines learning, development, and employment opportunities, and reflects Mansoura University's interest in implementing the state's plan to develop the veterinary medicine sector and open new horizons for youth.
The President of Mansoura University added that this event is important at various levels, and a precious opportunity for recent graduates in all veterinary fields to connect them with employers and achieve empowerment by providing them with the necessary knowledge, tools and skills, and also within the framework of keeping pace with the state's directions to develop the skills and capabilities of its youth, which reflects the concerted efforts of government institutions together, in a way that achieves the public interest, in reaching fruitful results, and extending the roots of cooperation with all institutional bodies, which contributes to the renaissance of our Egyptian society. He also thanked the Veterinarians Syndicate, Dr. Maha Al-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the companies participating in the exhibition for their active participation in this forum, as well as all members of the work team.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim discussed the importance of the university's role in changing and developing the work system through the social responsibility strategy that seeks to raise the efficiency of performance and the rate of impact on society according to the university's strategy that aims to develop the capabilities of its graduates in line with the labor market.
Dr. Magdy Hassan, Head of the Veterinarians Syndicate, thanked the President of Mansoura University for the university's cooperation and warm reception, expressing his positive aspiration to achieve the conference's goals and benefit a large segment of veterinarians, as organizing many similar events helps companies reach the best competencies. He added that the presidential initiatives that focus on building the citizen and developing his capabilities and skills contribute to serving the public interest and advancing society, and that the conference aims to establish a database for veterinary medicine graduates, improve the unemployment rate, support companies to employ the best competencies, and link veterinarians to the labor market. It also represents an activation of the role of the Syndicate and its social responsibility in linking graduates to the labor market through training courses provided by the Scientific Center of the Syndicate.
Prof. Maha Al-Ashmawy expressed her pleasure at organizing the activities of the first employment conference for veterinarians at Mansoura University, as part of the activities of the presidential Bedaya initiative, with the attendance of a large number of executive and legislative bodies, representatives of the armed forces, local and international bodies, and businessmen. He added that the conference aims to guide and advise recent graduates of veterinary doctors and help them obtain a job opportunity, as well as encourage employment agencies to receive qualified veterinarians. She also said that the conference is a supportive opportunity to clarify the impact of the veterinary profession on the national economy and the One Health approach and activate a rational mechanism for community participation in formulating the future vision of the veterinary profession and exchanging experiences, redrawing of the future of the veterinary profession, and she thanked the employment agencies that provided many job opportunities and free training for newly graduated veterinarians.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Prof. Cherif Khater presented the university shield to Dr. Magdy Hassan, the head of the Veterinary Syndicate, for his great support for this distinguished and unique event held at Mansoura University. Then, he inaugurated the exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference, which includes more than 50 companies from the largest local and regional companies working in the field of agricultural and veterinary economics, and provides distinguished job opportunities for young veterinarians, in addition to free specialized training programs at the highest level inside and outside Egypt.
The activities of the first day were completed with three discussion sessions, the first session included veterinary medicine and the national economy, the second session included one health and its role in the national economy, and the third session dealt with veterinary medicine between industry and skill.
