Mansoura University President receives the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation team to accredit the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, received on December 22, 2024, the accreditation team from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, for the institutional accreditation of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and the accreditation of the faculty's tourism guidance program, as part of the university visit program specified by the Authority.
The delegation included Prof. Salwa Al-Sayed Al-Meligy, Head of the Accreditation Team, and the membership of each of Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Muhammad Nassar, Prof. Farida Muhammad Mujahid Mahmoud, Prof. Lamia Mustafa Saeed, and Prof. Tamer Magdy Issa.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Muhammad Abdul Latif, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Nisreen Shalaby, Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Center at Mansoura University, Prof. Mona Ezz, Coordinator of the Tourism Guidance Program, and Dr. Reham Mamdouh, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.
At the beginning of his speech, Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the Authority's delegation to Mansoura University, stressing the university’s keenness to keep pace with quality and excellence standards, and to apply the accreditation culture in the various faculties of the university in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
Prof. Cherif Khater stated that during the meeting, the achievements of the university, its faculties and various units were reviewed, and what is being done to meet quality standards according to the accreditation guide, as well as the efforts being made to overcome weaknesses and improve performance. He praised the fruitful cooperation with the Authority, thanking them for the technical and academic support provided to the university to obtain academic accreditation as the first accredited public university in Egypt, pointing to the university's role in supporting faculties applying for accreditation on the technical and logistical level.
Prof. Salwa El-Meligy stressed the excellence of Mansoura University in providing high-quality scientific and research services to the community, noting that the university is constantly seeking to develop its performance and achieve leadership. She explained that the evaluation team's visit comes within the framework of the university's keenness to maintain its prestigious position and the accreditation of its faculties and programs. She also praised the efforts made by the university to improve the quality of education in all faculties of the university, its excellence in all fields, and its effective contribution to achieving continuous qualitative development for Mansoura University.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Latif said that the Faculty of Medicine, Tourism and Hotels has submitted its institutional accreditation papers in implementation of the university's vision, adding that the faculty is currently witnessing a major milestone to raise the quality of the educational process, strive for international competition with universities, and raise the level of competitiveness of graduates locally and internationally, stressing that the faculty has been keen to meet the established standards for accreditation and quality, and that it seeks to achieve this goal by developing the educational and research process, solving various societal problems, and carrying out the necessary development operations.
Prof. Nisreen Shalaby pointed out that the Quality Assurance Center at the university works in partnership between the authority and the university to achieve success and obtain academic accreditation for all faculties and all programs in it, in line with the objectives of the university's strategic plan, which aims to obtain accreditation for all faculties and programs by providing all means of material and human support to clarify and explain the developments in the criteria for applying for accreditation, and the arrangements made by the authority to raise the quality of the educational process and the level of competitiveness of graduates locally and internationally.
Following the meeting, the Accreditation Committee team from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education headed to the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels to conduct a field visit according to the visit program specified by the Authority, which lasts for three days.
