This competition is part of the university's ongoing support for the culture of entrepreneurship and enhancing leadership and management skills among its students.
This year's competition was organized under the scientific supervision of Prof. Abeer Tawakol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering and Academic Supervisor of the “Enactus” team, and fully organized by the Enactus team at Mansoura University, which presented a distinguished model for organizing student events that combine academic learning with practical application.
Milestone aims to prepare a distinguished generation of young entrepreneurs through a series of training courses and practical workshops that enhance communication, presentation, and planning skills, enabling students to present project ideas aimed at developing society in its economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
Prof. Cherif Khater emphasized that organizing such competitions on campus is a true reflection of the university's strategy to support innovation and entrepreneurship and provide a stimulating environment for students to develop their capabilities and skills. He noted that Mansoura University is steadily moving toward preparing graduates capable of competing locally and internationally, and qualified to actively participate in building the future through entrepreneurial thinking and community awareness.
Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi also stated that the continuation of this competition over seven years reflects the university's deep belief in the importance of practical training and community engagement in shaping the character of university students. He emphasized that supporting innovation and entrepreneurship remains a top priority within the university's strategic plan.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash said that the university places great importance on entrepreneurship and innovation programs, based on its belief that the new generation of graduates must be equipped with an entrepreneurial mindset. He added that the student projects he saw in this edition reflect a distinguished level of understanding and application.
Prof. Abeer Tawakol expressed her pride in the Milestone experience, which has become a leading platform for honing students' skills and directing their energies toward community service. She explained that this year's projects demonstrated a high level of creativity, planning, and execution. She also thanked Nada Genena, a student at the Faculty of Medicine and the team leader, as well as all the team members, for their efforts and dedication to preparing and organizing the competition.
The participants underwent intensive training, during which they were divided into working teams. Each team worked on developing an innovative project idea, which was then studied and implemented. These efforts culminated in the organization of the final competition, where six student teams competed for the top three places.
The winning teams were announced and honored with incentive prizes presented by the Enactus team, in recognition of their outstanding ideas and ability to develop realistic, applicable solutions.
The judging panel consisted of a select group of experts in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship. They included: Dr. Ahmed Fikry, Director of the Projects, Grants, and International Cooperation Office; Dr. Amr Gabr, Director of the Innovation and Scientific Research Support Office; Dr. Eng. Ahmed Kamal, an expert in digital transformation, the Internet of Things, and sustainability, and a lecturer at the National Training Academy and several universities; and Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh, Director of the Technology Transfer Office at Mansoura University.
