the Faculty of Agriculture hosted an awareness workshop on "Natural Childbirth and the Golden 1000 Days of a Child's Life."

As part of Mansoura University's efforts to support health initiatives and promote community awareness, the Faculty of Agriculture hosted an awareness workshop entitled "Natural Childbirth and the Golden 1000 Days of a Child's Life." This workshop was held within the framework of the national initiative to raise awareness about the importance of natural childbirth and the cooperation protocol signed between Mansoura University and the National Population Council. Faculty members, staff, and students participated.

The workshop was organized under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Tarek Mostafa Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector. It was led by Prof. Abeer Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Mohamed Ali Shata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and supervised by Prof. Metwally Abu Saree, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Fatima El-Emam Hafez, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The workshop was also attended by faculty members, staff, and students. The workshop sessions were presented by a select group of faculty members from the Department of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing. These included Prof. Hanan El-Sayed Mohamed, Head of the Department of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing; Prof. Samia Ibrahim Othman, Professor of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing; Dr. Enas Sabry Fathy, Lecturer of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing; and Dr. Abrar Raafat, Assistant Lecturer of Women's Health and Obstetrics Nursing.

The workshop was organized in coordination with Dr. Zahraa Mahmoud Mattawa, Director of the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture.

The workshop addressed the importance of natural childbirth as the optimal choice in most pregnancies, given its numerous health benefits for both mother and child. It also explored the concept of the "Golden Thousand Days," the period from the beginning of pregnancy until the child reaches two years of age, considered the most influential stage in a child's physical, mental, and overall development.

The lecturers discussed the importance of proper nutrition during pregnancy, the role of breastfeeding in supporting the child's growth and boosting their immunity, and the importance of regular prenatal care for both mother and child. They also addressed and corrected several common misconceptions related to vaginal and cesarean births.

The workshop saw active participation from attendees, who raised numerous questions about healthy practices during pregnancy, the differences between vaginal and cesarean births, and the best ways to maintain the health of both mother and child during the first 1,000 days of a child's life. The lecturers answered these questions during an interactive discussion session.

This workshop is part of a series of awareness activities and events implemented by Mansoura University in cooperation with the National Population Council. These initiatives support national efforts aimed at promoting health awareness, raising awareness of the importance of vaginal birth, and emphasizing the crucial role of the first 1,000 days in a child's health and development.
