Mansoura University concludes the “Building Awareness and Shaping the Future” Forum

Mansoura University concluded its “Building Awareness and Shaping the Future” forum on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the Prof. Ibrahim El-Mahdi Auditorium at the Faculty of Commerce. The forum, organized by the “Students for Egypt” student group at the university, ran from August 23 to 25, 2026, under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and with the participation of a number of academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and students.

 The closing ceremony of the forum was attended by Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research and Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, Prof. Mohamed Ali Shata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Mosaad Salama, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Amr Nazih, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim El-Gohary, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Zohry, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Walid El-Tantawy, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Sabry Saraya, Coordinator of Student Activities and Head of the “Students for Egypt” Family, Dr. Amani El-Hadidi, Assistant Rapporteur of the “Students for Egypt” Family and Coordinator of Student Activities at the Faculty of Law, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Saad, a preacher and orator at the Ministry of Endowments, Dr. Salem El-Hendawy, a scholar from Al-Azhar and Advisor for Religious Affairs at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Ahmed El-Ashry Helal, Director General of University Student Welfare, and Mohamed Ragai, Rapporteur of the “Students for Egypt” Family. Alongside a number of faculty members and student welfare staff from the university and its colleges, and a large group of students.

 Prof. Cherif Khater emphasized that building the student's character is a fundamental aspect of the university's mission, noting that obtaining a degree alone is insufficient to prepare students for professional life. He stressed the need for cultural awareness, experience, skills, leadership abilities, decision-making skills, communication skills, and the ability to integrate into society.

 He commended the outstanding results achieved by Mansoura University students in competitions and activities at the local, regional, and international levels, affirming that students are essential partners in the university's success and distinction. He thanked them for their active participation in activities and events.

 The university president emphasized the importance of not being swayed by rumors, and of hard work, commitment, and responsibility. He affirmed that the university's progress in international rankings, community service, and student activities is the result of integrated efforts in which students played a fundamental role. Prof. Cherif Khater emphasized the importance of students serving as ambassadors for Mansoura University both on and off campus, sharing their acquired knowledge and experiences with their peers, especially new students. He revealed the university's intention to hold a meeting soon with the Student Union and representatives of the "Students for Egypt" family to discuss the plan for welcoming new students and to hear their suggestions regarding activities and events at the start of the new academic year.

 He noted that the university is working to provide several facilities for students, including support for those unable to pay tuition fees, dormitory fees, or the cost of e-books, through the Student Solidarity Fund.

 He affirmed the university's commitment to students with disabilities and directed that the needs of the faculties be reviewed and any issues related to their mobility within university facilities addressed. He also stressed the necessity of combating violence, smoking, addiction, and negative behaviors.

 The university president also mentioned the continued cooperation with Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Religious Endowments in organizing seminars and cultural and awareness programs, praising the efforts made by Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi over the past years in supporting the education sector, students, and student activities.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash expressed his delight at participating in the closing session of the forum, emphasizing that "Students for Egypt" plays a vital role in supporting new students, helping them integrate into university life, and transforming their dreams into bigger ideas, achievements, and aspirations.

 He explained that university is not merely a place for receiving lessons, but a holistic experience that combines education, activities, social interaction, and teamwork—all elements that contribute to building a student's character. He stressed the importance of encouraging students to participate in the various activities offered by the university.

 He pointed out that students need essential skills in addition to their academic studies, foremost among them language, technology, and soft skills. He emphasized that the job market no longer relies solely on a university degree, but requires graduates who can present themselves effectively, demonstrate their skills, and efficiently meet the demands of the workplace.

 The forum's closing session included several interventions from leaders, faculty members, and students, addressing the development of the educational process and student services, preparing students for the job market, supporting activities and training, pursuing postgraduate studies, and developing infrastructure. The forum commenced on Sunday, August 23rd, in the Sanhouri Auditorium at the Faculty of Law. The first day included sessions on leadership, cultural identity, effective teamwork, and time management. The Faculty of Arts hosted the second day's events, which featured sessions on loyalty and belonging, national security challenges, character building and shaping the future ("You Are a Success Project"), and "Protocols: Between Theory and Practice."

 Throughout the forum, students actively participated through discussions, questions, and contributions, fostering direct dialogue between them and university leaders and faculty members on various issues related to their university life and their academic and professional futures.

 The “Building Awareness and Shaping the Future” forum comes within the framework of Mansoura University’s interest in student activities as one of the basic components in building the student’s personality, and its keenness to provide programs that combine knowledge, culture, training and dialogue, in a way that contributes to preparing a generation of conscious young people capable of taking responsibility, participating positively and shaping the future.
