A delegation of students from Mansoura University visited the Integrated Animal and Dairy Production Complex in Sadat City

Under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, the university organized a scientific visit for a delegation of students from the Faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Science to the Integrated Animal and Dairy Production Complex in Sadat City. This visit reflects the university's commitment to supporting scientific activities, developing students' practical skills, bridging the gap between academic study and practical application, and providing an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies used in animal production and scientific research.

The visit was led by Prof. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and organized by the General Administration for Student Welfare, represented by the Social Activities and Trips Department, in cooperation with the university's Military Education Department. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Walid Tantawi, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Sabry Saraya, General Coordinator of Student Activities; Dr. Mariam Wissa, Deputy Coordinator of Student Activities; Mr. Ahmed El-Ashry Helal, Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare; and Mr. Ehab Rady, Director of the Social Activities and Trips Department. It was coordinated with the University's Military Education Department, led by Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Saad Hassan, Director of the Military Education Department.

The delegation began its visit at the Research Training and Research Complex, where they attended a presentation on the complex's establishment, objectives, and role in supporting the food security system. The presentation also reviewed the complex's components, which include six model farms: five dairy farms and one fattening farm. In addition, the complex features automated milking parlors, feed and dairy processing plants, modern slaughterhouses, a veterinary hospital, artificial insemination and calving facilities, water treatment units, and service facilities. The presentation also highlighted the complex's production capacity and its state-of-the-art management and operational systems.

The delegation was briefed on the complex's production capacity and its latest management and operational systems. Following the lecture, the delegation toured the research laboratories, where students learned about the latest equipment used in veterinary and food analysis. They received explanations about its role in analyzing samples, diagnosing diseases, monitoring the quality of milk and feed, and supporting scientific research in the field of animal production.

The visit also included a field tour of the various departments and wings of the complex, followed by a visit to a model farm. There, the students observed the farm's operations, including the automated milking parlor and the stages of milking, milk collection, and transportation according to the latest standards. They also visited the veterinary hospital, the quarantine and isolation pens, and the maternity wards and hospitals, learning about the healthcare and preventative measures provided to the herd at different stages of breeding and production.

The students affirmed that the visit provided them with an opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the latest animal production and scientific research systems. It also contributed to enhancing their practical skills and connecting what they learn in the classroom to real-world applications, thus supporting their preparation for professional life. At the conclusion of the visit, the Mansoura University student delegation expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the management of the Integrated Animal and Dairy Production Complex in Sadat City for their warm welcome and hospitality, and for the valuable scientific information and comprehensive explanations provided, which contributed to maximizing the benefits of the visit.
