Mansoura University Wins 5 Awards at the Conclusion of the Second Season of the "Tarab" Music and Singing Festival, in the Presence of the Minister of Higher Education

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, attended the closing ceremony of the second season of the "Tarab" Music and Singing Festival for Egyptian university teams. The festival, organized by Suez University in cooperation with the Student Activities Sector and the Leadership Development Institute, ran for five days and featured music and choral teams from Egyptian universities and institutes, including non-specialized groups.

 The event was also attended by Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture; Prof. Ashraf Hanijel, President of Suez University; presidents of Egyptian universities; Prof. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Development Institute; Maestro Selim Sahab; members of the judging panel; participating students; and delegations from Egyptian universities.

During the closing ceremony, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh emphasized that human development is not limited to providing students with academic knowledge, but also encompasses awareness, culture, and the ability to innovate. He pointed out that student activities, in all their diverse forms, are an integral part of the university experience, offering students opportunities to discover their abilities, learn teamwork, take responsibility, and gain confidence.

 The Minister of Higher Education explained that art within the university is a partner in human development, given the role of music, singing, and the arts in elevating emotions, opening avenues for creativity, and giving young people a space to express themselves. He stressed the importance of supporting student talents and encouraging them to learn, train, and develop their skills.

 In a press statement, Prof. Cherif Khater affirmed that Mansoura University's participation in the "Tarab" Festival stems from the university's commitment to supporting student activities in various fields and providing students with opportunities to discover and develop their talents and abilities. He noted that artistic activities represent a significant aspect of the university experience, offering opportunities for expression and creativity, and fostering self-confidence and teamwork. The President of Mansoura University praised the outstanding performance of the university's students during the festival competitions, emphasizing that their high rankings reflect their talents, creative abilities, and dedication to representing their university with distinction in various student events and activities.

 He also noted the university's commitment to providing students with suitable opportunities to participate in diverse activities and competitions, contributing to honing their talents, developing their skills, and benefiting from the experiences offered by student competitions. He stressed the importance of encouraging talented students to develop their abilities and continue their journey of creativity and excellence.

 The closing ceremony featured several artistic performances, including a medley titled "Joys from Folkloric Music" performed by the Cairo University Choir with the participation of students from other Egyptian universities. This was followed by a group song titled "Here is Egypt, Here is My Heart" performed by students from other Egyptian universities under the direction of Maestro Yasser Mustafa, and a medley of Egyptian folk music performed by the Alexandria University Choir with the participation of students from other Egyptian universities, directed by Dr. Sherihan El-Hadiny. The festival witnessed a distinguished participation from Mansoura University through its choir, in addition to the participation of several university students in the solo singing and instrumental competitions. The university successfully secured five awards in the second season of the festival at the level of public universities.

 In the group singing competition for public universities, Mansoura University achieved third place, alongside Suez and Tanta Universities.

 In the solo singing competition for public universities, Ahmed Hosny, a student from Mansoura University, won second place, while Rana Moheb, also from Mansoura University, won third place.

 In the solo instrumental competition for public universities, Mina Sherif, a student from Mansoura University, won second place, while Julie Hany, also from Mansoura University, won third place.
